OVERVIEW
Research shows that 66% of streaming viewers know exactly what they want to watch when they open the app. The other 34% spend a long time browsing. Only 26% of users watch content based on platform recommendations, which indicates that current recommendation systems could improve.
After interviewing 15 Netflix users aged 19-22.
We identified decision fatigue and choice overload as core issues affecting Netflix users.
The three primary barriers users face include:
• Cognitive load: Limited browsing time increases stress when faced with endless options
• Fear of wrong choice: Users worry about wasting time on unsatisfying content
• Decision deferral: Content overload leads users to postpone choosing
PROBLEM
Inspired by Apple’s design philosophy, I developed a conceptual calculator that blends function with signature aesthetics. The project investigates how simple digital tools, like calculators, can be thoughtfully integrated into Apple’s user experience standards.
